Hello dear Berlin visitors, my name is Jan Benedict. I use JB as a nickname. A native Berliner, I first started guiding at 20... and have found the work and the opportunity to meet people from all over the world a pleasure and a privilege throughout :) I mainly guide in English language and have focused on history-related tours, covering 20th century history, especially that of the Nazi dictatorship, World War 2 and the Cold War. But I am equally happy to create high quality overview tours, focusing on the Berlin of today, its magnificent architecture old and contemporary, its marvelous museums and its fun aspects. I also guide in Potsdam, Berlin`s sister city and former Prussian Royal Residence town with its beautiful palaces and palace gardens, and hold several guiding licences issued by the Prussian Palaces and Gardens foundation. The colorful local Argentine tango scene of Berlin I know by heart, and also visit Buenos Aires regularly, usually in January and February. Having built a network of excellent colleagues, I can hire guides for the best available customised guide service if I am not available to guide in person or become unavailable for a confirmed booking.
