A typical Berliner, as I came to Berlin at the age of 18. For a few years I lived in Italy and a year in Taiwan, but came always back to Berlin, my favourite city. Before reunification I lived in West-Berlin, every now and then visiting East-Berlin. In 1989 I saw the wall come down and changed from West Berlin’s Free University to famous Humboldt University in East Berlin. So I witnessed nearby the extreme changes during the following years, in East- as well as in West-Berlin. Since the nineties I have been working as a tour guide, too, in Berlin and Potsdam; showing and explaining the famous monuments, but as well illuminating how Berlin became the fascinating place it is, with that special atmosphere.
