Yes, Nicosia's old town can be is easily explored on foot. A roughly 4-hour walking tour allows you to discover the most important sights of the divided capital, such as the Famagusta Gate, old churches and museums, the Cathedral of St. John the Theologian, the Omerie Mosque, the hamam (Turkish bath), and the Missirikos Church.

In Nicosia, you must visit Eleftheria Square (Freedom Square). The old town begins there. Stroll through the old town and visit the Church of St. Michael Trypiotis and the Church of Faneromeni. Right next door is the Ledra Observatory Museum, where you can admire the city from the 11th floor. 150 meters further on is the checkpoint where you can enter the occupied part of the city. There, you can visit the Holy Sophia Mosque (Gothic Cathedral), the Church of St. Nicholas (Das Bedesten), and the market hall. Have a coffee at Büyuk Han.

Exploring Nicosia's old town takes approximately 4 hours for both parts. If you only want to explore the occupied part, you'll need 2 hours, and for the Greek part, about 3 hours.

The 3-hour tour starts from Eleftheria Square. We will visit the old Town Hall and Laiki Yeitonia (the People's Quarter), the Churches of the Archangel Michael Trypiotis and Panayia Faneromeni, the Ledra Observatory Museum where we will view the city from the 11th floor, the Ledra Checkpoint, the new Town Hall, the 3rd Lusignian Palace, the old power station, the Archbishop's Palace and the old Cathedral (St. John's Church), the new Cathedral (Apostle Varnavas Church), the Omerie Mosque and Hamam.
