For first-time visitors to Venice, St. Mark's Square is an absolute must-see, the stage of Venice, practically a book that elegantly tells us the story and glory of the city. Another highlight is the narrow streets of Castello where Venetian life unfolds, and finally, the oldest bridge over the most beautiful waterway in the world: Rialto.

First on the list is the Doge's Palace, the seat of the Venetian government. Approximately two hours are needed to visit the Doge's Palace, and it is recommended (to avoid the queue at the entrance) to purchase tickets online on the Doge's Palace website.

At the Accademia di Venezia, the history of Venetian painting from the 14th century onward unfolds before our eyes. A fascinating museum for art lovers!

The Ca' Rezzonico Museum transports us to 18th-century Venice: a magnificent palace whose numerous rooms still allow visitors to experience the furniture, mirrors, frescoes, paintings, and golden atmosphere of 18th-century Venice.

And of course, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection is not to be missed. The guest is greeted in the garden by Anish Kapoor, Marino Marini, Arnaldo Pomodoro, and Giacometti. Inside, at Peggy's home, the guest will meet her friends; the most famous painters of the first half of the 20th century are everywhere: Picasso, Braque, Picabia, Kandinsky, Pollock, Ernst...

Another very interesting museum is the Scuola di San Rocco, the former headquarters of the Guild of St. Roch (one of the most exclusive clubs in Venice). Here we find Tintoretto's most important cycle of paintings, on which he worked for 23 years. Through his 64 paintings, Tintoretto tells us the Old and New Testaments in a very personal and dramatic way.

In Venice, where each island was once a village, there are numerous churches offering visitors incredible artistic treasures.

A visit to St. Mark's Basilica is a must. This ancient Byzantine-Romanesque structure is decorated inside with 4,000 square meters of mosaics. In this unique church, East and West, heaven and earth, meet and merge. (Reservations and advance payment are mandatory.)

The Frari Basilica: This ancient Gothic basilica is home to Titian, Giovanni Bellini, Donatello, Antonio Canova, and many other great artists.

The Basilica of Saints John and Paul: the so-called Mausoleum of the Doges. This ancient Gothic church houses the magnificent tombs of the Doges of Venice.

The Basilica of Saint Zaccaria: Not far from St. Mark's, it offers visitors a harmonious Renaissance style and many artistic treasures. The ancient crypt, which is almost always flooded, is particularly interesting.
