Treviso Highlights walking tour
We will meet at Treviso railway station and walk to the town center surrounded by walls and the Sile river in the southern part.
Once in the heart of town we will see the ancient "Loggia dei Cavalieri", with its elegant and refined Romanesque architecture. We will then reach the small fish market island where the fish from the Adriatic sea and the Sile river is sold every day from Tuesday to Saturday. We will then pass by the 13th century S. Francis Church and visit one of its most romantic corners, known as the Buranelli Portico, where fishermen from Burano used to stay at the time of the Serenissima Republic.
The tour will end in Piazza dei Signori, Treviso main square, and along the Calmaggiore which is the main shopping street leading to the town's cathedral where some fragments of the beautiful frescoes that once adorned the façades of the palaces can still be seen.
