Zakopane - Tatra Mountains

Only 2 hours drive from Krakow to the south you can reach the highest range of Carpathians - the Tatra Mountains. The peaks of the mountains reach the altitude more than 2500 metres over sea level.

The city of Zakopane - called the winter capital city of Poland is located at the highest peaks of Tatra, close to the border with Slovakia. The region of Podhale is also well known thanks to unique traditions connected with ethnic group called Gorale (mountainers) their shepherd's culture, folklore, traditional food, in Zakopane you can taste the oscypek with raspberry (smoked sheep cheese).

On our trip we will show you the centre of Zakopane (Krupowki street with lot of shops and restaurants, wooden architecture - the Jaszczurowka Chapel, the Ski Jump Wielka Krokiew, and the Gubalowka Mount with picturesque view on the northern part of Tatra Mountains. The mount is reachable with comfortable cable car, on our way to Zakopane we will see small beautiful wooden St. Michael's Church in Debno with unique polychromy (UNESCO).
