The water which is taken from the source of the Darro river is used as a symbol likewise for live and power and is ubiquitous in the whole palace city. From the laying of the foundation stone by Muhammad I Alhamar en 1238 it is the connecting element between the Alhambra and the Generalife. A part of the former royal orchard that sustained the population of the palace city has been converted by modern garden architects into a garden of delight that you can enjoy with all your senses.
