3-hour Helsinki Walking Tour

The center of Helsinki can comfortably be discovered by walking! The tour starts off at Senate Square with the famous white landmark Helsinki Cathedral, the same place where Helsinki’s story as capital began in 1812.

Next we turn towards the buzzing Kauppatori-Market and you enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful line of historic buildings at the Southarbor waterfront as well as Uspenski Cathedral. From the market we meander along the main promenade Esplanades and take a closer look at major Finnish design brands.

Next, you get a chance to marvel at the massive railway station by Eliel Saarinen, and it’s famous sculptures at the main entrance. I will then guide you through Citizen’s Square, the showroom of modern Finnish architecture and social philosophy, with the marvelous central library Oodi surpassing everything. Opening hours permitting, we will walk through Finlandia Hall (by Alvar Aalto) to the famous Rock Church.

From there, a tram will take us back to the South-Harbor and the Old Market Hall, where you can continue on your own, refuel with some coffee and Finnish delicacies or browse through the design shops of the Market Quarter.

Helsinki sits right in the middle between Stockholm and St. Petersburg. Surrounded by the Baltic sea and hundreds of islands in front of the coast, the city is a surprise for many. I will do my best to make you fall in love with the Finnish capital.

*This tour can also be booked as a 4-hour tour. In this case, the tour turns from Senate Square towards Uspenski Cathedral and through the impressive Art Nouveau quarter of Katajanokka to the market place
