The heart of Paris beats in its very center: on City Island (Ile de la Cité), Saint Louis Island and the river banks around. On our discovery tour we will dive back in the past and hear about the origins of Paris and the development of the city in the Middle Ages.

We will start in front of City Hall (Hôtel de Ville) on the right bank, walk along the former Roman cardo (north/south axis) to Notre Dame Cathedral, stroll on Saint Louis Island, also called Island of the Palaces and maybe have a French Ice-cream at "Berthillon".

We will continue along the Saint Chapelle, jewel of the gothic style and the Conciergerie, former prison of queen Marie-Antoinette during the French Revolution. We will walk through Dauphine Square to the famous Pont Neuf bridge on the tip of City Island, where we will have à breathtaking view to the Louvre Museum, former Royal Palace of the kings of France. (Possibility to spend an additional hour on an architectural walk around the Louvre and the Palais Royal)
