Athens through the Millenia - Walking Tour

A city should be discovered by foot! The tour starts off at the Gate of Hadrian and through the ancient streets of the Old Town, in the direction Tower of the Winds, the Roman Agora, Hadrian’s library to Kerameikos – where the city wall and gates were located.

From this location we discover the Acropolis from the west and walk in the footsteps of the ancient Athenians. The ancient city center, the Agora – center for workshops and politics, finance and science – is in front of us and we continue along the side of the Agora towards the hills opposite the Acropolis.

Via the observatory, located on the hill of the Nymphs, to the Pnyx – the site of the Athenian democratic assembly where Themistocles and Pericles held their speeches and the Athenian citizens took their decisions, changing history … all this with the breathtaking view of the Acropolis.
