Verona's Culinary Delights - Food Tour
On this tour we start with an oil tasting (and bruschetta) at a local olive oil producer who welcomes us in his cozy bruschetteria in the old town, near the arena. The perfect start at lunchtime to get to know a typical product of the sunny and fertile area. Lake Garda with its sub-Mediterranean climate is ideal for olive oil production and so you have the opportunity to experience the scents and aromas of this landscape right away.
Then continue with the discovery of the old town and a wine tasting in one of the most beautiful places in Italy to explore the wines of this region. VINITALY is an international wine fair, probably the largest one in Europe, takes place every year in April in Verona, and testifies to the importance of this natural product. Several wine regions surround the provincial capital: Valpolicella, Lugana, Soave, Bardolino. We will taste a white and a red wine.
We literally stay in the heart of the old town to find a sweet ending and we also learn about the love of the two youngsters who have become immortalized through Shakespeare's drama. The love story of Romeo and Juliet became so famous that a master baker Veronas was inspired to create a special pastry and the "Baci di Giulietta" was born. The sweetness of these delicacies is accompanied by a glass of local dessert wine. The perfect tour for connoisseurs!
