Prado-museum. A World Of Art

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5.0 / 5 (1 reviews)
The Prado Museum or simply “the Prado”. When it was founded on the initiative of Queen María Isabel de Braganza in 1819, no one thought that this modest gallery with some very few, works from the immense collection of royal paintings would become what it is today: a paradise for art lovers, and especially Spanish art from the Middle Ages to the end of the 19th century. The Prado is almost a parallel world. It’s easy to get lost in it, impossible to see and digest everything in a single visit. One more reason to put yourself in the hands of an experienced professional who designs a tour of the masterpieces of this museum. Get to know some gems of Spanish painting from the hands of El Greco, Velázquez, Zurbarán, Murillo, Goya. And let yourself be inspired by some of the most famous European painters of their time: Titian, Raphael,...

Madrid Frequently Asked Questions

We have collected the answers for you for some of the frequently asked questions from our visitors in Madrid.

Yes, surprisingly, that's not a problem. Although the city has 3.5 million inhabitants, the historic center is very compact and densely packed. If you're a good walker, you can cross the old town from north to south in an hour. And if you get tired, there are inexpensive taxis and a well-developed subway system at your disposal.

Madrid enjoys a very sunny climate, ranking among the sunniest cities in Europe. However, between mid-June and early September, it unfortunately gets far too hot, often exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. From September to June, however, any time of year is recommended for travel, with the very best climate in May, September, and October: little rain, warm days, and not-too-cold nights.
