Milan Duomo Private Tour

The Milan Cathedral dedicated to the Nativity of St Mary (Santa Maria Nascente) has a long building history of nearly six centuries: construction began in 1386, and the final details were completed in 1965.

It is the third largest church after St. Peter's Basilica is in the State of Vatican City and the cathedral in Siviglia, Spain. The roof is open to tourists, which allows a close-up view of some spectacular sculpture that would otherwise be unappreciated. The roof of the cathedral is renowned for the forest of openwork pinnacles and spires, set upon delicate flying buttresses and a breathtaking panorama view on the city and in clear-sky-days even the Alps are visible!

The Candoglia marble is the material used for the International Gothic building, but in 6 hundred years you could notice baroque, neoclassical and other architecture styles. 3400 statues, 135 spires, 40.000 people can be contained inside this church and the golden statue called “Madonnina” is on the top spire to welcome you!

The 2-hours long visit starts on climbing onto the terraces for the marvellous panorama-view and then we go down into the church to admire the numerous masterpieces and we end the tour with the archeological area.
